Zain continues to serve underprivileged communities in last 10 days of Ramadan

Delivering food supplies and Iftar meals in partnership with Kuwait Food Bank

Zain continues to serve underprivileged communities in the last 10 days of the Holy Month of Ramadan by delivering food supplies (Machla boxes) and Iftar meals to fasting individuals. The ongoing initiatives came in strategic partnership with the Kuwait Food Bank under Zain’s annual social campaign, Zain Alshuhoor.

Zain recently held a special visit to the Fish Market in Sharq to share the blessings of the Holy Month with fasting individuals by delivering Iftar meals. The visit was joined by Zain Kuwait Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al Khashti, Kuwait Food Bank Vice-Chairman Meshal Al Ansari, Zain and Food Bank officials, and members of the Zain Alshuhoor volunteer team.

Zain’s team also paid a visit to the Kuwait Food Bank’s Distribution Cetner in Sulaibiya to deliver Machla boxes (food supplies) to underprivileged families registered with the bank. The step was an extension to the initiative Zain launched before the arrival of the Holy Month of secure essential food needs for underprivileged communities.

The Iftar meals initiative, which comes back in its 17th year, is a main pillar of Zain’s annual social program during the Holy Month. The company serves Iftar meals every day in collaboration with its strategic partner, the Kuwait Food Bank, through trucks that visit densely populated areas across Kuwait to secure Iftar meals for underprivileged families and individuals.

Zain also serves daily meals at the Grand Mosque, another strategic partner during Ramadan, to reach a total of 42,000 meals throughout the entire month. The initiative is directly supervised and organized by Zain’s team and joined by members of the Zain Alshuhoor volunteer team that consists of employees from across the company’s divisions and departments.

This year, six of Zain’s strategic community partners, including the Kuwait Food Bank, join its annual Ramadan social campaign, Zain Alshuhoor. The campaign features a wide range of humanitarian, charitable, social, religious, health, and sports programs that continue throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Zain Alshuhoor is one of Kuwait’s biggest and most successful community programs during the Holy Month. Every year, the company introduces a bigger, renewed version of the campaign that expands upon the previous year’s initiatives and programs. The campaign strives to share the blessings of this much-cherished month with the entire Kuwaiti people.
